Bamboo Shoots / Angel Entertainment put me in charge of compiling all the samples from each production company and burning a HD bluray DVD with lower 3rd supers for each one. I haven't burnt alot of blurays so it was a good chance to learn how to author multiple formats, luckily 80% was full HD 1080P, 12% HD 720P and 8% 480i SD. I used FCP7 to build the timeline and output the bluray files. Then Adobe Encore to burn them.
The show happened on May 13th 2012 at he Broadway Theatre, SMPIA President Ron Goetz askes the simple question "Do you want a film industry in Saskatchewan?" the crowd shouted out YES!
Kim Coates spoke some inspirational words as he made the point that this is not just about film but about culture, art, music. He said he wants to come back to Saskatchewan, his home, to direct.
I was pretty impressed with the quality of the show. Even though it wasn't an HD projector, the bluray looked and sounded awesome. Some great examples of Film/TV made in our great province of Saskatchewan, Canada.
